John Wilford

John is Group Corporate Development Director of Lloyd’s Register, one of the world’s leading providers of independent assurance to companies operating high-risk, capital intensive assets in the energy and transportation sectors.

Prior to joining Lloyd’s Register John had established his own advisory practice, Advisare.  John has more than 25 years of international business experience, having run and managed several boutique advisory businesses following a 17-year career as a global partner with Lazard, one of the world’s pre-eminent financial advisory firms.  His career has focused on providing strategic and financial advice to a wide range of private and public companies operating across a broad range of industry sectors.

John graduated from Cambridge University in 1981 with an honours degree in Economics and Management Sciences.  Subsequently he graduated with an MBA from London Business School in 1985.

He is also a Governor of Rydal Penrhos School and a member of the Appeals Council of the charity DeBRa – and a keen sporting enthusiast.
