Operating within the overall investment policy set by the Board (including ethical constraints) Investment committee has responsibility for facilitating the appropriate and effective management of the Foundation’s investment portfolio.
The committee decides what proportion of the portfolio should be invested in different types of asset eg shares, bonds, property, commodities, cash etc.
It then takes responsibility for appointing investment managers from commercial investment companies who take portions of the endowment and invest it for the Foundation and monitors the performance of each investment manager. It is also part of the committee’s role to remove those whose performance is unsatisfactory.
The committee comprises at least two Governors with relevant experience together with the Chief Executive and Director of Finance and Administration.
