Supporting networks that improve the quality of healthcare

In brief

We believe that networks are becoming all the more important in driving through lasting improvements to healthcare.

In autumn 2011 we are testing a new approach that will link up established and emerging networks with support from a faculty of experts.

There are many examples of effective networks in healthcare. However, we are also aware of many networks that were set up with strong objectives, but which have failed because they lacked the strategy, knowledge and headspace to function effectively.

There is a growing body of knowledge about what makes a network effective, and how to design, build and sustain one. We want to provide networks that in some way contribute to improving the quality of care with the right support and advice to help them realise their potential.

We have appointed an expert faculty with a wide range of learning developed through working with other networks in healthcare and we are confident they will be able to provide support that will meet your needs. Perhaps your network could benefit from advice on how to recruit more members, exploit social media, or support in designing networks with diverse stakeholders, or support in influencing policy and practice? These are just a few examples of the support available.

Our call for the prototype phase is now closed. We plan to issue another call for applications in late spring/early summer 2012

The call for applications document doesn't download. Wonder if you could get it fixed?

thanks

Hi Alex,

Thanks for letting us know - the download should now be working.

Thanks,

Sara Wills
I'm part of a region wide network for improvment, but I also have my internal network working towards improvement, would this be classified as a network?

Andrew Seaton
Not sure if the application download is working or at least it hasn't worked for me
Dear Andrew

Thanks for your comment. We are interested in working with a wide range of networks, which will certainly include smaller internal networks as well as the larger regional ones.

Best wishes

Sophie
Dear RM Summers

We made some changes to the website yesterday and the download should now be working. Please try again and if you are still having problems please email me at networks@health.org.uk

Thanks
Sophie
The applications document doesn't download...Is it possible to fix this? Many thanks.
Thanks for your comment Louise.

There appears to an issue downloading the material for some people, although others have been able to access everything without any problem at all. We are trying to find out what the problem is and see if there is anything we can do to fix it.

In the meantime, if anyone is having a problem downloading the form, please email networks@health.org.uk and ask for a copy to be emailed to them. Please ensure you email first, rather than leave a comment, in order to avoid delay in getting the material to you.

Thanks
Sophie
i am not able to download the application document--it is being blocked. Could you send it to me by email?

thanks, liz
Liz - please email networks@health.org.uk to request an application form, as per my comment above.

This avoids delays in me getting the application form to you as I do not have automatic access to your email address.

Thanks
Sophie
please email me the application form as still not able to download for some reason - many thanks Heather
Hi

Please email me the application form as it is not downloading. Many thanks
When will we know when the process is open again. We are very keen to submit interest and do not want to miss next deadline
Similar comment - when will the process be re-opened for further applications?
Dear Debbie & Julie - sorry for the delay in responding.

We are planning to re-open in early 2012 - probably some time in February. You can register on this website to receive email alerts so that you are kept informed about new programmes when they launch, so ensuring you don't miss the next deadline.

Thanks
Sophie
Can you advise when application is likely to re-open? We are thinking of setting up a Diabetes Network
