Thanks Will. Nicely put. I agree that copying offers much. However, the fundamental enabler of replication is not spread and communication, despite the necessity of that. Rather it is a deep personal and organisational curiosity. And this can be tricky due to busyness, hubris or separateness.
Some of your ideas will help. Also, senior leaders modelling how they too spend time every day finding out and copying others' solutions in their OWN work (not just encouraging their staff to do it) helps to lead the way. Resisting awards ceremonies that do not have 'steal with pride' categories for at least half of the prizes. Leaders at all levels taking time to collaborating to discover how to lead curiosity as the spark for improvement.
Inquiring hard to find the 'pull' is more important than more 'push' and more platforms, however seductive these solutions are to those at the 'top'.
