The aim of our Quality Improvement Fellowships is to equip clinically-qualified senior NHS professionals with the tools and techniques of quality improvement.
Fellows spend a year in the USA working with The Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI). Our aim is that on their return to the UK fellows will integrate their learning into processes and procedures at their employing organisation in order to have a real impact on service improvement and promote quality improvement nationally.
What are we doing?
Working in partnership with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, the Quality Improvement Fellowships started in 2004.
To date, we have supported eleven fellows. Three fellows are currently in the USA.
About the fellowships
The aim of our Quality Improvement Fellowships is to equip clinically-qualified senior NHS professionals with the tools and techniques of quality improvement.
This prestigious fellowship aims to develop senior leaders who have the enthusiasm, experience and skills to promote quality improvement nationally and build organisational capability to drive quality improvement to dramatically higher levels of performance.
Fellows spend a year in the USA working with The Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The fellowship combines academic learning with the development of practical skills and techniques for quality improvement.
