About this video

Tom Downes, a consultant geriatrician at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, talks about their journey to understand how as an entire organisation they could use a different approach to address quality and safety challenges, starting with the care delivered to older people.

The video includes information about how they used the Big Room methodology which involves health care staff, social care staff, patients and community staff. Tom says that the Big Room gives staff 'the opportunity to redesign their own system'.
