This is a very interesting video. Quality improvement in the UK is taking root as medical professionals adopt the concepts of Quality and Safe Care in healthcare activities. Healthcare is a process that involves many professionals and non professionals. Therefore, understanding the interactions is not only necessary but essential in driving quality. Quality care can not be viewed in isolation of value, timeliness, efficiency, cost, differentiation, formalisation of processes of productivity and creativity, and above all genuine involvement of patients in driving quality. Let patient stories drive quality and design of services. The IHI open school is good introduction to learning about quality improvement. It is worth a try.
