Sixteen healthcare professionals with the potential to become the NHS leaders of the future have been awarded prestigious Leadership Fellowships by The Health Foundation.
The award winners come from a wide range of organisational and professional backgrounds within the health service and include managers, nurses and hospital doctors. They are regarded by The Health Foundation as having the potential to make an outstanding contribution to improving the quality of healthcare in the UK.
Through the Leadership Fellowship, The Health Foundation hopes to give the award holders extra support and skills to achieve their full potential. They will receive two years of high quality leadership development delivered via a mixture of one-to-one coaching sessions, group seminars and workshops. The award scheme also provides the opportunity for all participants to receive tailor-made training and personalised support.
Jan Walmsley, Assistant Director for Leadership at The Health Foundation said, “We are investing in the healthcare leaders of tomorrow, today. All 16 award winners proved themselves to be highly motivated, talented professionals dedicated to improving patient services. I am certain that through our Leadership Fellowships we have identified healthcare professionals with the ability to become effective, inspirational leaders within the NHS.”
