Ian Bullock is Chief Operating Officer at the National Clinical Guideline Centre at the Royal College of Physicians, London.
Having qualified as nurse in the mid 1980s, he has developed expertise and has facilitated local, national and international networks in evidence based health care, research and development (including quality improvement), critical care clinical practice, clinical and higher education. He is involved in strategic and operational planning at a national and international level with the College, is responsible for a large funded research programme on behalf of NICE, with particular focus on evidence translation and utilisation, clinical standards and the interpretation of these into quality markers.
He is involved in higher education as an external examiner and remains committed to developing critical care education in a national advisory role.
