This leaflet introduces QQUIP, a research initiative of the Health Foundation that provides a source of independent commentary and data about the quality and performance of healthcare provision.
QQUIP provides a coherent and accessible evidence base designed to offer a helicopter perspective of current performance in UK healthcare and where it needs to improve. It offers high level synthesis of current research into how to improve the quality of healthcare and related resource implications to make those improvements.
QQUIP is intended for healthcare decision makers, including policy makers, managers, clinical leaders, researchers and patient groups. They can use this independent source of evidence to inform decisions and take actions that will lead to higher quality patient care. QQUIP aims to influence the ambitious reforms underway in the NHS and contribute to international efforts to measure and improve the performance of health systems.
This leaflet explains what the QQUIP research initiative is and the three different streams involved in QQUIP: Quality Information Centre, Quality Enhancing Interventions and Value for money. It highlight research reports written under each stream.
