How the Health Foundation is working with others to change the face of healthcare

Published: January 2009

The Health Foundation is working as a catalyst to improve the quality of healthcare. We seek out people who aspire to be the best and support them to learn and share with others. We make a difference by encouraging, facilitating, funding and supporting people in healthcare to improve quality.

We work with a wide range of people to improve the quality of healthcare. In Catalysing quality, some of those people share their experiences of working with us to change the face of patient care.

  • Carol Nixon talks about how Co-creating Health is helping her to support patients with long-term conditions to self-manage.
  • Andrew Way talks about the Safer Patients Initiative and the importance of having senior leadership involved to get safety firmly on the agenda.
  • Amit Khutti describes his experiences of the Health Foundation’s approach to leadership.
  • Gene Feder highlights how Engaging with Quality Primary Care ‘is reaching the parts that other programmes don’t reach’.
  • Mara Airoldi describes the Foundation’s flagship research programme – Quest for Quality and Improved Performance.

These stories show how our partners are directly transforming healthcare in creative, sustainable ways.
