Sarah Davidson is CEO at the Carnegie UK Trust, which works to improve the wellbeing of people throughout the UK and Ireland. In recent months, the Trust has drawn attention to the unequal impacts of the COVID crisis according to geography and population groups, drawing on new and existing evidence about wellbeing. The Trust advocates for building wellbeing approaches into the recovery at local and national level, and published its contribution to the Building Back debate here.
Prior to joining Carnegie UK in August 2019, Sarah had a 25-year career in civil service, latterly as Director General in the Scottish Government. She is a Trustee of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and of St Mary’s Music School in Edinburgh, a Fellow of the RSA, and was appointed CB in the 2019 New Year’s Honours List.
