Yannish joined the Health Foundation in February 2019 as Senior Policy Fellow leading on economic and business strategies for health.

As a public health doctor in specialty training with a special interest in healthy economic policy, Yannish has policy and research experience in areas including macroeconomic determinants of health, place-based economic development and the social and solidarity economy.

He has been based in a range of organisations including City of Bradford Metropolitan Council, Public Health England, the University of York, the University of Leeds, Calderdale Council and the University of Liverpool and their Collaborating Centre of the World Health Organisation.

He is currently finishing a systematic review to understand the impacts of the macro-economy on health and health inequalities. The protocol is available online.

Yannish has a medical degree from the University of Leeds and a Master’s in Public Health from the University of York. He is registered with the General Medical Council (7271113) and a Member of the Faculty of Public Health.
