ISQua 2017

The Health Foundation are host partner for ISQua’s 34th annual conference in Westminster, 1­ – 4 October 2017.

The theme of this year’s conference is Learning at the system level to improve health care quality and safety. The event brings together health care professionals from around the world to network and learn from each other in the hope of improving the quality and safety of health care in the UK and worldwide.

Join us for our pre-conference seminar on Sunday 1 October, 10.00 – 17.00

Small to all: Meeting the challenge of spread and scale-up for quality improvement.

This expert seminar will explore how to move from successful small-scale project to national programme - a major challenge for quality improvement in health care. Speakers include leaders of local projects that have successfully spread their work and discussion of the different approaches to spread and scale up, including the use of social franchising and consideration of the research evidence on how to scale up improvement. Q&A and discussion involving delegates will aim to get under the skin of this crucial challenge.

We will also be exhibiting for the duration of the conference. Come along to the Health Foundation and Q exhibition stands to pick up our latest publications. Additionally, there will be the opportunity to book onto a session to experience A Mile in My Shoes.

Several sessions throughout the conference are being led by the Health Foundation:

• Jennifer Dixon, Chief Executive of the Health Foundation will be chairing the opening plenary

Our other sessions include:

• Using Data Analysis to Guide Quality Improvement in Primary Care (Sarah Deeny, Isaac Barker, Rebecca Fisher)
• Learning for Improvement: New Paradigms and Practical Inspiration (Penny Pereira, Dominique Allwood)
• Designing and Delivering Safer Care: Incorporating Lay Voices in Every Step (John Illingworth)
• Drawing on Evidence and Experience to Develop a Coherent National Quality Strategy (Tim Gardner, Aoife Malloy)

We will also be leading two sessions focusing on learning from some of our grant programmes:

• Health Foundation projects: Quality in Community Services (Will Warburton)
• Health Foundation projects: Quality in mental health services (Dominique Allwood)

Finally, Professor Mary Dixon-Woods will be presenting a session on the new Improvement Research Institute.
