Sarah Riding Principal in General Practice

About me

Sarah is a Health Foundation Leadership Fellow and was Principal in General Practice for Shropshire County PCT at the time of her fellowship.

Sarah graduated with a degree in medicine in 1987 before achieving a diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1989 and a diploma in Family Planning in 1991. In 1995, Sarah qualified as a GP Registrar Trainer and in 2005 she qualified as a GP Appraiser.

Sarah had been a partner in her practice since 2000. She provided general medical services to the 7,000 practice patients including holding booked surgeries, telephone consultations and visits. Sarah was also practice development lead, nursing development lead and GMS2 lead. As commissioning lead for the practice, she led seven local practices in forming the locality commissioning group which she chaired at the time of her fellowship.

In addition, Sarah was responsible for the medical care of the residents in a local care home and offers enhanced services in family planning, women’s health and minor surgery.
