Health Foundation project wins prestigious Training Journal award
A clinical team from Yorkshire and the Humber has won the award for Best Public Sector programme at the prestigious Training Journal awards this week. They also secured second place in the Best Partnership category for their work with Berkshire Consultancy.
As part of the Health Foundation’s Closing the Gap through Changing Relationships improvement programme, the team from Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and York and Leeds Hospital Trusts set up a bespoke training course for renal nurses to learn how to support patients to manage their own dialysis. For many patients, self-dialysis is an empowering experience, helping them develop a greater sense of control and a better understanding of their condition and its treatment.
The Training Journal awards promote excellence, best practice and innovation in training and learning and development. This cross-industry national event recognises, promotes and honours excellence, professionalism and outstanding achievement.
