About me

Azom is a GenerationQ Fellow and Director of Operations (Community Services) at North Middlesex University Hospitals NHS Trust.

Compass Wellbeing Community Interest Company is a ‘spin-out’ social enterprise providing psychological therapies and community nursing services in East London.

Azom's role involves leading and driving transformational change across the organisation, while ensuring that it remains commercially competitive in the current health and social care environment.

Azom has spent most of his career working to improve quality of care in the NHS and is skilled at approaching change in a systematic and emotionally intelligent manner. In recent years, he has provided vision and leadership to an improvement programme to transform psychological therapy services by increasing reach and impact through quality and productivity improvement initiatives.

Azom is motivated to learn more about best practice in quality improvement and share his experiences of transformational change, alternative models of care and strategy through GenerationQ: ‘The programme will enable me to access current thinking, theory and practice in quality improvement. I am also excited about working in action learning sets with other leaders in health and social care to share ideas and reflect on practice’.

As Compass Wellbeing grows and becomes more complex, Azom plans to apply his learning from GenerationQ to influence sustainable change and quality improvement. Specifically, he would like to develop and implement a patient and community engagement strategy that ensures feedback and continuous dialogue is at the heart of service improvements: ‘The ambition would be to review and align all existing feedback mechanisms, explore new methods, review overarching improvement methodologies and systematically roll out a strategy that is responsive and adaptive to changing healthcare demands’.
