About me
Simon is a Health Foundation Leadership Fellow and Medical Director at Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Simon graduated with a MBChB in 1989 followed by a DA from the Royal College of Anaesthetists in 1991. He became a fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists in 1994 and completed specialist training (CCST) in Anaesthesia/Intensive Care Medicine in 1997.
Simon had been in his post since 1998 as Consultant in Intensive Care and Anaesthesia and was Clinical Director (latterly Lead Clinician) for Intensive Care from 1998-2006. At the time of his fellowship, he had been Clinical Director for Anaesthesia since May 2006.
His main responsibilities included clinical governance, clinical quality and developments, manpower planning and anaesthetic service delivery across three hospitals. Additionally Simon represented his Directorate on a number of internal and external committees.
