About me
Tim is a Health Foundation Leadership Fellow and Medical Director at Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust.
At the time of his fellowship, Tim was Consultant in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine and Deputy Medical Director at the Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust.
Tim graduated in medicine in 1983 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists in 1989.
He has been in his post since 1993 and was one of a small number of consultants responsible for the day-to-day running of the Critical Care Unit at the Royal United Hospital. This involved him leading a highly developed team of nurses, therapists, pharmacists and trainee doctors from all specialties in caring for the sickest patients in the hospital.
In addition, at the time, Tim was the trust’s Deputy Medical Director with particular responsibility for operational and patient service delivery. In 2005, he was seconded on a part-time basis to the position of Director of Patient Service Delivery, leading and line managing the three clinical divisions at the Royal United Hospital.
