About me

Vicky is a Health Foundation Leadership Fellow and Head of Health at the Greater London Authority.

At the time of joining Cohort 3 of the Health Foundation Leadership Fellowship in 2006, Vicky was Head of Inequalities and Partnerships at Haringey Primary Care Trust in London.

Having graduated from University of Sussex in 1992 (BSc Human Sciences), and from LSHTM in 1997 (MSc Health Promotion Sciences), Vicky had previously worked in planning and research, then public health, with the Ministry of Health in the Seychelles.

Moving back to London in 2001, she took up a regional role supporting the London Regional Director of Public Health as health advisor to the (then new) London Mayor, and London Assembly.

Having completed her specialist registration with the UKPHR, she worked as a Public Health Consultant for seven years - first in Haringey, and then in Hackney and the City of London, with a wide portfolio covering most lead areas at some point over that time. Having worked to support preparation for the transition of Public Health responsibilities into Local Government, she took up the new role of Joint Director of Public Health for the London Boroughs of Redbridge and Waltham Forest in April 2013. From November 2014 she moved to the wider role of Director of Public Health, Adult Care and Wellbeing in Redbridge, leading the development of a radical new integrated model across adult social care, public health, community health services, and leisure and culture.

Vicky has chaired the London Association of Directors of Public Health network since January 2014.
