As the NHS approaches its 70th birthday, Health Foundation Chief Executive Dr Jennifer Dixon discusses what might help to guide the next stage of progress to its 100th anniversary.

Examining the role of government, managers, clinicians, patients and the public, Dr Dixon looks back on the last seven decades of the NHS, and how we can speed up the pace of improvement in future.
