In late July, NHS England and NHS Improvement published Strengthening Financial Performance & Accountability in 2016/17 – a report which sets out measures to ‘reset’ NHS finances.

In an article published by the BMJ, the Health Foundation’s Jennifer Dixon and Will Warburton consider what this means in practice for NHS trusts, the wider risks, and what must happen if quality of care is not to go backwards.
