Webinar: Health inequalities in Scotland
Tuesday 15 November 2022, 15.00–16.30
Earlier this year the Fraser of Allander Institute at the University of Strathclyde and the MRC/SCO Social and Public Health Sciences Unit at the University of Glasgow were commissioned by the Health Foundation to review the existing evidence on trends in health inequalities in Scotland since devolution.
At this webinar, hosted by the Fraser of Allander Institute, you will hear about the two reports:
- Trends in the socioeconomic determinants of health, led by the Fraser of Allander Institute at the University of Strathclyde (this report will be published in the coming weeks)
- Trends in social inequalities in health and health-related behaviours led by the MRC/SCO Social and Public Health Sciences Unit at the University of Glasgow
Following presentations from the lead authors, there will be reflections from:
- David Bell, Emeritus Professor, University of Stirling
- Katherine Smith, Professor of Public Health Policy, University of Strathclyde
- Carol Tannahill, Former Director of the Glasgow Centre for Population Health and Chief Social Policy Advisor, Scottish Government
This will be followed by a Q&A with the lead authors and the panel.
The event will be chaired by Chris Creegan, the chair of the review’s expert advisory group. David Finch from the Health Foundation will join the webinar to provide an update on the review.
