In partnership with the BMJ Group

Working with the BMJ Group, we showcase the latest thinking on quality improvement and generate new insights on care quality. We do this through our co-ownership of the BMJ Quality & Safety journal and our series of joint papers on quality improvement being published in The BMJ.

  • BMJ Quality & Safety brings together academic and clinical perspectives on quality and safety in health care by encouraging academics to create evidence and knowledge valued by clinicians and clinicians to value using evidence and knowledge to improve quality.

  • In 2018 we launched a joint series of papers published in The BMJ exploring how to improve the quality of health care delivery. The series will discuss the evidence for systematic quality improvement, provide knowledge and support to clinicians and ultimately will aim to help improve care for patients.

QualityWatch

While many national organisations are monitoring the quality of care, the Nuffield Trust and the Health Foundation believe there is also a need for independent scrutiny by non-statutory bodies. QualityWatch is our joint research programme that monitors how the quality of health and social care is changing over time. We hope it will both augment and inform the work of other statutory national bodies and initiatives.
