Local Government Spending

Our response to the Public Accounts Committee inquiry

The Health Foundation responded to the Public Accounts Committee inquiry on local government spending. In our submission we outline evidence on:

  • The key role of local authorities in maintaining and improving health
  • The extent of the pressures currently placed on local authorities, including the public health grant funding gap and adult social care funding pressures
  • The need for a cross-government approach to improve the population’s health
