Funding programmes
We provide support and funding to those working to build a healthier UK, and help shine a light on how to make successful change happen
We offer support and funding to those working to build a healthier UK. We support testing and spreading of ideas, build capacity, skills and knowledge and share evidence. Our aspiration is to create a virtuous circle, using what we know works on the ground to inform effective policymaking and vice versa. You will find details of our current funding programmes below.
Promoting healthy lives for all
Good health supports positive social and economic outcomes for both the individual and society. We explore the conditions needed for everyone to live a healthy life in the UK and how the health of a population might impact economies and communities.
Supporting health care improvement
We learn what works to make people’s lives healthier and improve the health care system by giving grants to those working at the front line. As the second largest endowed foundation in the UK focusing on health, we spend around £30m a year improving health and health care.
Research programmes
We fund research and policy analysis work to shine a light on how to make successful change happen. We have funded more than 150 external research projects across a range of themes over the last five years.
Data analytics for better health
We aim to innovate in the use of analytics to tackle real-world problems and build analytical capability in health and social care. By building a shared understanding of the action needed nationally we want to ensure everyone benefits from analytics and data-driven technology.
