Modern slavery statement
The Health Foundation is an independent charitable organisation working to build a healthier UK. Health is our most precious asset. It is shaped by the work we do, the income we earn, the education we receive and the places, communities and families we live in. As such, we are committed to a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery. We are not legally required to publish a modern slavery statement, but we have chosen to do so to show our commitment to act ethically and with integrity.
We identify those areas of our business or supply chains where there is a risk that modern slavery might be taking place and ensure we have appropriate measures in place to counter this risk.
Organisational structure and supply chains
The Health Foundation is a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. The board is responsible for the overall governance of the Foundation. All governors are members and directors of the company, and trustees of the registered charity. Our annual reports set out our organisational structure and governors.
We have been a London Living Wage-accredited employer since 2018.
We do not work directly with high-risk organisations with regards to modern slavery and human trafficking. We work with suppliers in the following sectors in carrying out our operations:
- Technology
- People
- Finance
- Legal
- Facilities
- Research
- Consultancy
- Marketing and media
- Investments
We have assessed that our facilities suppliers have the highest inherent risk with regards to modern slavery. We have ensured that we pay the London Living Wage to all contractors whose main place of work is our office.
Our standard terms and conditions require all suppliers and award holders to comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Policies in relation to slavery and human trafficking
We have the following policies in place in relation to modern slavery:
- Recruitment policy
- Whistle-blowing policy
- Safeguarding policy
