Samantha Field Senior Fellow (Prevention)

Samantha joined the Health Foundation in August 2025 and is a Senior Fellow in Prevention. 

She works on various areas of public health policy, including risk factors for ill health and system-wide prevention strategies. She is a Consultant in Public Health, and has previously spent time working across local government, national government, international health bodies and academia. She completed the FMLM National Medical Director’s Clinical Fellowship in 2023. Prior to specialising in public health, she trained in internal medicine in the NHS. 

Samantha has an interest in the ways innovation can enable effective population-level disease prevention. She serves as a clinician in the NHS and for a preventative healthcare platform, and as a governor for Guy’s and St Thomas’s NHS Foundation Trust. She holds an MSc in Global Health Science and Epidemiology from the University of Oxford, and was winner of the 2024 Bennett Public Policy Prize.
