About me
Richard is a Health Foundation Leadership Fellow and Chief Executive at Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust.
At the time of his fellowship he was Consultant Physician with an interest in Endocrinology and Diabetes, and Clinical Director, for Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
Richard graduated with a B Med Sci in Virology in 1989 and an MB ChB in 1991. He became a member of the Royal College of Physicians in 1994 and an MD in Endocrinology in 2001.
Richard had been in his post since 2002. His role was to provide clinical leadership to the Directorate and he had a wide range of responsibilities including clinical quality, financial performance and performance against relevant access targets and leading the local action plan for reducing MRSA bacteraemia.
As one of 12 Clinical Directors, he was a member of the Clinical Management Committee, the main clinical decision-making body within the trust.
